The difference between success and fulfillment |

I believe that there are many successful women in the workplace and in the home. You can be successful (i.e. have the corner office, be married to a great man, have the nicest clothes), yet still be empty inside. There are millions of women around the country who are not completely fulfilled in what they do/who they are. This can be illustrated by the popularity of Rick Warren's "The Purpose Driven Life." We all have three basic needs in life: Peace, Love & Significance. When any one of these elements is missing, we tend to experience discontentment, anxiety and/or a sense of being lost. Do you find yourself saying: "I feel like I'm wasting my life away" "I know I could be doing something else...someting better." "I know I was born to do someting, but I don't know what it is." If so, you probably lack signifance. Significance is where we find total fulfillment. It is when we align ourselves with our God given purpose that we meet our basic need for significance. How to find significance in your life? 1. Understand who you are and your truest desires. 2. Harness your gifts, talents, skills, abilities and background 3. Prayerfully develop a plan of action 4. Leverage your resources and relationships 5. Prayerfully take action 6. Stay focused and positive (The joy of the Lord is your strength!) GETTING STARTED: Get a piece of paper and answer these questions. 1. When you were a child, what did you dream of becoming? Why? 2. What are you naturally good at? 3. When you find yourself being bored, what do you dream about doing instead? 4. What problems are you able to solve for others? 5. What are some things that upset/motivate/intrigue you about today's society. Remember that, we are called to live an abundant life. Abundant living occurs at the intersection of finding our life purpose and taking action to get there. Start taking action today towards living a life of significance. Every journey begins with one step. If you need help, ask for the support of friends/family or hire a professional coach.
